I started this through wanting to create my own bouquet for my wedding, but didn't want to use flowers. I now create these beady stems and accessories in my spare time and find it very satisfying making items that could transform someone's bouquet, hair accessory, button-hole/boutonniere/corsage, cake or table decoration into something a bit special or fun, or just to make a display to put on the windowsill to catch the light.

I source the beads from all over the place - online, in charity shops, friends clearing out jewellery stashes, even my gran's old costume jewellery so sometimes I cannot be specific on the materials I've used, or even if they're brand new or recycled. For example, for pearls I've described as 'faux' even though you might be really lucky and they're the real thing, ditto the glass may be crystals. I've only stated 'crystal' if I know for sure they are Swarovski etc. If I've stated vintage, then I know the beads are more than 20 years old.

 

All the stems can be made to whatever length you need, with as many beads as you require too. If you specifically require brand new beads, then please say so (although I only use re-cycled beads that are in good condition).

Some items that I have either made for friends or myself can be replicated to your own colour palette, or even to your own design. I like the idea of you sending me your own beads for me to twiddle for you for your special occasion, just get in contact and we can discuss the possibilities.

Finally, Itsabitbeady... Some friends ran a lovely fish restaurant on the idyllic Caribbean island of Barbuda. Sadly it was flattened in the 2017 hurricane, but it'll be back one day, better than ever. It's called Itsabitfishy!
